Family Pedagogical Documentation

Reason for Pedagogical Document for the Family:
Matilda explores and learns about her world through art formation. Every time we observed Matilda we noticed that she always dressed up and had a marker, paint brush in hand. She can be often found displaying how she feels and what she is thinking.  The work samples in Matilda’s portfolio are a great example of her creativity in action. She is often in the zone and working on her own but loves conversing with the educators about what she is creating.
When displaying it to her parents it would be best to have it printed on a piece of paper or an electronic version. It would be displayed with photos to show her progression, and quotes to help illustrate what is happening in the moment. The documentation is significant because it ultimately shows the milestones she is reaching in terms of creativity and expression.   Due to Matilda spending the majority of her day in the child care centre, this documentation gives her parents an opportunity to see the progression in Matilda’s development that her parents would not otherwise see in the home environment. This documentation makes Matilda’s learning visible to her family and can serve for future conversations with her educators about Matilda’s skills during parent meetings.
